Whales may have descended from a deer-like critter

An anatomy professor from Ohio has a new theory on the whale. For a while people had the hippo as the leading candidate for the whale's closest land relative. But then they found that the hippo lived in the wrong part of the world and came up too recently to be the whale's ancestor. The professor has found some fossils of the new creature called Indohyus, a deer-like critter. It apparently looks nothing like a whale but when it comes to anatomical features it's very much like the whale. I think that the hippo doesn't look much like the whale either but they thought that was it's relative.
